bella balls » Lesli http://bellaballs.com Wed, 18 Apr 2012 17:20:20 +0000 en hourly 1 Treasure found in Mexico! http://bellaballs.com/2011/04/treasure-found-in-mexico/ http://bellaballs.com/2011/04/treasure-found-in-mexico/#comments Wed, 20 Apr 2011 21:09:24 +0000 Lesli http://bellaballs.com/?p=494 While on a recent trip to Sayulita, Mexico, I was reminded of the joy of giving.  My husband, myself and our very dear friends, Kelly and Jeff, decided to spend some time in the surfing/hippie town of Sayulita.  My husband, who had just purchased 25 bellaballs at our seconds sale (yes, he has to pay for them!) decided to bring a beautiful bellaball with us.  After several glorious hours of enjoying the scenery, shops, and the beach, we decided to have a margarita and some dinner at a lovely little restaurant on the beach.  Before we had a chance to be seated, my husband excused himself and went for a little walk on the beach.  When he returned, he mentioned that he had dropped the bellaball on the beach near the surf and thought it would be fun to see if anyone would see it while we were having dinner.  We had the perfect view!  Several people walked right by the glass float, looking in different directions.   Soon, a little boy was walking along  the beach, kicking up sand and surf.  It was incredible to see him gaze upon the orb and go to investigate.  He bent over the bellaball and looked up to make sure he wasn’t doing anything wrong.  He called for his father.  His father went over to him and it looked as if he was telling the little boy to leave it there… it wasn’t his to take.  At this point, my friend Kelly and I made our way to the father and son.  We explained ( in our best spanish) that the bellaball was his to keep.  He found a treasure!  With grace and gratitude, the father and son accepted the small gift.  The look of joy on the face of the little boy was incredible.

A reminder that giving is beautiful!

Lesli and Mike

Hello. I must admit that I am a bit intimidated right now. I would not call myself “computer savvy” so I am grateful to my fabulous business partner, who gently pushes me into the unknown blogging abyss. Here we go!

My bella adventure began last November when my husband and I took a much needed trip to Maui. Of course, I had my bellaball in my carry on luggage and was really fascinated at how much jostling it withstood… hence, they display a strength that belies their fragile appearance.

Aloha

We were fortunate to be able to spend a glorious 3 weeks on the Island and I was constantly on the hunt to find just the right place to free my bella. Many days passed where I would carry my bellaball to different beaches, walking trails, and hiking locations. I actually considered taking it on an early morning eco-zip line excursion far up in the regions of Haleakala.

I am posting some of the different photos I took while waiting to find the perfect place to place my bellaball. My husband was a great sport packing my bella everywhere we went but his patience grew a little thin when I insisted we go to the Grand Wailea Hotel to capture some photos on their beautiful grounds. I am not a photographer but pretended to be as I was laying on the pathways to get the perfect angles.

The last four days of our trip were spent at the Hana Hotel and Resort. Mike and I were married there and we try to go back as often as we can because it truly is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I knew when we got there that this would be the place to send my bella into the world in hopes that a special someone would find it and feel the love, hope and joy it holds. Somewhere, in Hana, Hawaii, a beautiful green bella found a new home.
